Installation & Setup

Unpack the phone and verify contents. Choose a stable, well-ventilated location.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug an Ethernet cable from your network switch/router into the LAN port on the phone. For PoE, ensure your switch supports IEEE 802.3af.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Use the second Ethernet port (PC) to connect your computer to the network through the phone.
  3. Connect Handset & Headset: Plug the coiled handset cord into the HANDSET jack. Connect a wired headset to the HEADSET jack if desired.
  4. Apply Power: If not using PoE, connect the included power adapter to the DC 5V port and a wall outlet.

WARNING! Use only the provided or approved power adapter. Ensure cables are not pinched or damaged.

First-Time Configuration

Power on the phone; it will attempt to boot and contact a provisioning server.

  1. Network Boot: The phone will display boot progress. If configured for auto-provisioning (TFTP/HTTP), it will download its configuration automatically.
  2. Manual Configuration (if needed): Press the Home key, navigate to Settings > Advanced > Admin Settings (password may be required). Enter Server information provided by your system administrator.
  3. Verify Registration: Check the home screen for your extension number and "Registered" status.
  4. Set Preferences: Configure time zone, language, ringtones, and screen brightness via Settings > Preferences.

CAUTION! Do not interrupt the boot or firmware upgrade process.

Access functions via the touchscreen or physical buttons.

Front Panel: Touchscreen, Mute button, Headset button, Navigation ring, Home key, Soft keys.

Side/Rear: Volume rocker (on handset and side of phone), Ethernet ports, USB port, power port.

Touchscreen Interface: Home screen shows date/time, line status, and shortcuts. Swipe or tap to access Calls, Contacts, Applications, and Settings.

Key Settings Areas: Settings > Preferences: Sound, Display, Language. Settings > Advanced: Network, Admin, Device Info. Calls View: Access call history, voicemail, and active calls.

Connecting to Network & Peripherals

Network: Primary LAN port to switch. PC port to computer. USB: For approved headsets or Bluetooth adapters.

  1. Ensure phone is powered off before connecting new cables.
  2. For network, use standard CAT5e or higher Ethernet cables.
  3. Connect USB devices directly to the port on the back. The phone may need to reboot to recognize some devices.

Tip: Use the PC port to save a network wall jack and reduce cable clutter.

Making & Managing Calls

Basic and advanced call operations.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press Speaker/Headset button. Dial number using touchscreen keypad or from Contacts/History. Press Dial softkey or the Send key.
  2. Answer a Call: Press the Answer softkey, lift handset, or press Speaker/Headset.
  3. End a Call: Press the End Call softkey or place handset back in cradle.
  4. Hold/Resume: Press Hold softkey during a call. Press Resume to return.
  5. Transfer Call: During a call, press Transfer. Dial the transfer target, then press Transfer again to complete (blind) or wait for an answer to announce (attended).
  6. Conference Call: During first call, press Conference. Dial second party and press Conference again to join all parties.
  7. Call History: Press the Calls softkey from home screen to view Missed, Placed, and Received calls.

WARNING! Emergency calls (e.g., 911) may require specific configuration; consult your system administrator.

Advanced Features & Settings

Programmable Keys: Assign speed dial, line appearances, or features (BLF) via web configuration interface or phone settings. Voicemail: Access via Messages key or softkey (requires server setup). Forwarding: Set call forward rules via Settings > Preferences > Call Forwarding. Network Diagnostics: View network status and statistics in Settings > Advanced > Status.

Care & Maintenance

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the screen and casing. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Never spray liquids directly onto the phone. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
