Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Use an Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port on the phone to your network switch or router. For PoE, ensure your switch supports it.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Use a second Ethernet cable from the PC port on the phone to your computer's network port.
  3. Connect Handset and Headset: Plug the handset cord into the dedicated jack. Connect a headset to the headset jack if desired.
  4. Power the Phone: If not using PoE, connect the included power adapter to the phone and a power outlet.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapters. Ensure cables are securely connected to avoid disconnections.

First-Time Setup

Power on the phone; it will boot and attempt to obtain network configuration.

  1. Network Configuration: The phone may auto-configure via DHCP. Check the screen for IP address confirmation.
  2. Provisioning: If managed by a system (e.g., PBX, UC platform), it may auto-provision. Follow on-screen prompts or administrator instructions.
  3. Basic Settings: Use the Settings menu to set language, time zone, and ringtone.
  4. Line Registration: Enter account credentials provided by your administrator to register your extension.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during boot or firmware updates.

Controls and Settings

Access menus via the touch screen or navigation buttons. Front Buttons: MUTE, HEADSET, SPEAKERPHONE, NAVIGATION CLUSTER, SOFT KEYS.

Basic Navigation: Use the directional pad and OK button to scroll and select. The Home screen shows lines, calls, and features.

Settings Menu: Navigate to Settings > Preferences for: - Sound: Ringtone, volume levels, alert tones. - Display: Brightness, contrast, screen timeout. - Language: Set display language. - Time & Date: Configure time zone and format. - Network: View IP address, configure VLAN if needed. - Advanced: Firmware info, factory reset (use with caution).

Connecting to Network

Wired connection via Ethernet is standard. For advanced setups, VLAN or LLDP-MED may be used.

  1. Ensure the phone is powered off before connecting cables.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cable from your network switch to the LAN port on the phone.
  3. If daisy-chaining a computer, connect a cable from the PC port to the computer.
  4. Power on. The phone should display "Configuring" or show an IP address.

Tip: If the phone does not get an IP, check network cable and DHCP server status.

Making and Managing Calls

Basic call functions for daily use.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press SPEAKERPHONE/HEADSET. Dial number using keypad. Press Dial soft key or wait for auto-dial.
  2. Answer a Call: Press Answer soft key, lift handset, or press SPEAKERPHONE/HEADSET.
  3. End a Call: Press End Call soft key or hang up handset.
  4. Hold/Resume: Press Hold soft key to place call on hold; press Resume to return.
  5. Transfer: During a call, press Transfer, dial target number, then press Transfer again to complete.
  6. Conference: During a call, press Conference, dial second party, then press Conference again to merge.
  7. Call History: Press Directories > Recent Calls to view missed, received, and placed calls.
  8. Voicemail: Press Messages or dial your voicemail access number (if configured).

WARNING! Emergency calls may require a direct line or specific configuration; verify with administrator.

Advanced Features

Programmable Keys: Assign speed dial, BLF (Busy Lamp Field), or features via Settings > Preferences > Programmable Keys. Unified Communications Integration: If configured, access chat, presence, and meetings via dedicated soft keys or applications. Sidecar Expansion: Connect a VVX EXP module for additional programmable keys (compatible models). Bluetooth: Pair a Bluetooth headset via Settings > Bluetooth > Add Device (requires optional adapter on some models).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug power and network cables before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the screen and body. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen cloth with water; do not use solvents or sprays.

CAUTION! Never spray liquids directly on the phone. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the screen.
